Residents of the small town of Carthage enjoyed a concert last night at the First Baptist Church. In fact, the performer who has records playing on Christian radio stations is the grandson of the town's mayor, Carson C. Joines.

Adam Paul Williams, who sings contemporary Christian music, stopped by Carthage on his tour of East Texas. He put on an amazing concert complete with gospel standards, like "How Great Thou Art," "It Is Well With My Soul," and the more contemporary, "At the Midnight Cry."
Here's a little snippet I snatched on my Droid while the concert was going on.

Williams is from Carthage, but lives in Dallas now. He graduated college at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches.
After several concert stops at churches in East Texas, he has a stop slated for June 10th in Baton Rouge. Check out Williams website for downloads. He has five CD's available for purchase.
