Local firefighters are giving Muscular Dystrophy "the boot" -- beginning next week. Monday, July 18th, is when they kick off their annual "Fill-the-Boot" program. Each year, Shreveport and Bossier City firefighters stand at major street intersections collecting donations from community members. Last year's program raised over $125,000 for area children and adults battling neuromuscular diseases. All the donations stay right here in our community and allow MDA to continue its local programs. Firefighters will be collecting your dollars and change this month and next...and a big kick-off ceremony takes place at 2 Monday afternoon at Shreveport's Central Fire Station on N. Common.
