You've probably driven around the Ark-La-Tex and noticed that gas prices are a bit higher.  Correct that: a lot higher.

According to AAA, the average price in Shreveport-Bossier right now is $3.53 per gallon, which is up 16 cents from last week and 34 cents higher than one month ago, and 10 cents more than this date one year ago.

The national average is $3.73, up 15 cents from last week and 43 cents higher from one month ago.

Why the hike? This time of year, refineries are switching from the winter blend to the summer blend of gasoline. However, the snow storm in the northeast, plus issues internationally and a flat economy are accelerating the price climb.
