It's not a huge drop in prices, but it's enough to notice at the pump.  Not too long ago, we were looking at a rapid rise in gas prices happening much earlier in the year than in years past.

According to AAA, the average price in Shreveport-Bossier is just under $3.59 per gallon, five cents less than last week and about a penny less per gallon than last year. However, in many parts of Shreveport, we have seen gas prices under $3.50 per gallon quite frequently.

Right now, the statewide average here in Louisiana is $3.60.  In Texas, customers there are paying $3.58 on average and in Arkansas, a gallon of gasoline will run $3.57 on average.

The huge run-up in prices earlier in the year was primarily because of the earlier turnover of winter-grade fuel to summer-grade.

A few weeks back, we asked you how high gas prices will go this year and the majority of respondents predicted over $4.00 per gallon.  Do you still believe that?
