Shreveport’s municipal swimming pools don’t open for another week but you can swim for two hours this Sunday afternoon at the Southern Hills pool on Bert Kouns. It’s holding an open house from one until three that day. Shreveport Fire Department divers will be on hand, too, to demonstrate water safety and rescue techniques — as they’ve done for the past few weekends at other city pools. The official opening day for all Shreveport city pools is next Saturday — June fourth — but the Bossier City pools open next Wednesday — June first — at high noon.
