Four Arrested For Food Stamp Fraud
The Caddo Sheriff’s Office arrested four people for food stamp fraud after they obtained more than $13,000 in assistance illegally, said Sheriff Steve Prator. Sheriff’s Deputies executed warrants obtained by the Department of Children and Family Services Fraud and Recovery Unit for the arrests of Sharonda Moore, 39, Tavara Lee, 35, and Shanavian Butler, 26, all of Shreveport, and Shanika Carter, 27, of Oil City. All of the women are accused of concealing earned income to obtain benefits. In Moore’s case, the monetary loss to taxpayers was $5,102. The total loss in Lee’s case was $3,832; Butler’s, $2,304; and Carter’s, $2,069. All four women were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for committing fraud to obtain assistance.
