The search for a former local radio DJ reported missing in Alabama ends tragically.

According to a report from AL.com, the body of 45-year-old Chris Crowder, who we all knew as Chris Calloway, was found yesterday in a wooded area off of Riverchase Parkway near Valleydale Road. No foul play is suspected in his death.

The report says Crowder's vehicle was found at around 3:30 p.m. in a parking lot, and detectives found his body in the nearby woods.

Crowder was the program director and morning show co-host on K94.5 when I first entered what was then the Clear Channel Radio building in 2003.

Before I became a part of this radio family, I had seen Chris many times at remotes, and he was one of the people who suggested I consider radio as a profession. He even gave me opportunities to hone my skills during my internship and early employment here.

As K94.5's Chris Calloway, he was a fun-loving guy who sincerely seemed to enjoy his work. I was sad to see him go, but it seemed at the time that he had found better opportunties elsewhere. It's tragic to hear the news of his death. Prayers go out to his family and friends.

His wife shared the following message on her Facebook page:

Tonight has been very difficult. It is with a heavy heart that I let everyone know our family was informed this afternoon that my husband, Chris Crowder, has passed away. We appreciate your concern over the last few days.

We are comforted to know he is at peace. Thank you for all your thoughts & prayers for our family during this time.
