Former Shreveport Fire Captain on the Run After Making Threats Against Fire Department
A former fire captain embroiled in the Station 8 scandal is being sought after making alleged threats against the Shreveport Fire Department.
Members of the SFD command staff told officers they received information that 51-year-old Derrick Harris posted comments on Facebook that were threatening in nature. A source close to KEEL says there was something about "shooting up a fire station."
Authorities believe Harris made the posts threatening certain members of the SFD, as well as Central Fire Station. Investigators, working closely with the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office, have an arrest warrant charging Harris with one count of terrorizing. Bond is set at $250,000.
Police have been searching for Harris through the weekend, but have so far been unable to locate him. If you know where he is, you're urged to call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
