A former Red River Parish police juror has been arrested for malfeasance in office and abuse of office. Louisiana State Police detectives began investigating Billy Joe Gay of Hall Summit at the request of the Red River Parish District Attorney during the summer. He was suspected of using parish resources for work on his private property. Detectives say their investigation has revealed that Gay directed and allowed on-duty police jury employees to use police jury equipment to deliver and install parish-owned culverts, dirt, and foundation rock on his personal property. A grand jury indicted Gay Monday and he turned himself in yesterday. He's been booked into the Red River Parish Jail.
