Former Loan Officer Arrested for Theft

money stackThe Caddo Sheriff’s Office says the arrest stemmed from an investigation by the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force — into 34-year-old Mikiya Turner’s dealings at Thrifty Loans, where she was a loan officer. Detectives say in 2009, while working at the loan company, Turner fraudulently reopened old loans and took the money for herself and family members. She then altered the loan records in an attempt to cover up the theft. The missing funds were found during an internal audit. Total loss to the company…about $4,000.
