The former owner of a Lafayette investment firm has been jailed until his trial. U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley says 43-year-old Richard Buswell, who used to own Bowman Investment Group, has violated the conditions of his pre-trial release. This past August, a federal grand jury returned a 28-cound indictment against Buswell, charging him with one count of conspiracy, one count of securities fraud, one count of investment advisor fraud, eight counts of wire fraud and 15 counts of mail fraud. He was released on $100,000 bond with various conditions, including not to violate any federal, state or local law while on release. After an investigation by Lafayette Metro Narcotics, Buswell was arrested December 8th and charged with distributing synthetic marijuana. So he's being held until his trial on October 22nd, 2012.
