The attorney representing former Shreveport Fire Chief Craig Mulford has asked for a delay in bringing the case before the Police and Fire Civil Service Board.

All charges against Mulford in connection with the Fire Station 8 investigation were dropped by the Caddo District Attorney’s Office earlier this year.

Attorney Eron Brainard has apparently filed a motion to delay Mulford's appeal hearing before the Board and the panel has agreed to honor that request.
Mulford had been facing five counts of malfeasance in office. He claimed he was unfairly singled out in the Station 8 scandal, which cost seven firefighters their jobs. Mulford has been fighting the charges ever since. He is now planning to take his case before the Civil Service Board where he could ask for reinstatement, back pay or other remedies.

Mulford was was fired back in September of 2014 by then Mayor Cedric Glover after the allegations surrounding the station 8 scandal were uncovered. Mulford's attorney, Paul Carmouche earlier told KEEL News he would be trying to get back pay for his client, but he did not indicate whether or not Mulford would be fighting for his job back.
