Caddo sheriff's detectives have arrested a former deputy for stealing three cows and selling them for nearly $3,000.

After an investigation by the sheriff's office and Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission, 54-year-old Marilyn Roberson of Shreveport was charged with felony theft.

The cows were being kept on a pasture leased by Roberson. She's accused of selling the animals at the Panola Livestock sale barn in December.

Roberson was immediately fired from her duties with the Caddo Sheriff's Office, where she worked as a corrections deputy.
