A big donation to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana will help the organization provide more meals for more people.  The Walmart Foundation has just given the Food Bank a refrigerated food truck valued at more than $90,000.   The local food bank is one of only twenty in the country to receive one of these refrigerated trucks.  Fifteen others are receiving mobile pantries.  This donation comes at a time when the USDA is reporting that 1 in 6 people live in households without adequate food on the table and the U.S. Census Bureau is saying that more than 46-million Americans live below the poverty level.  The Food Bank estimates that the new truck will enale it to provide food for an additional 12,800 meals per week to hungry people in northwest Louisiana.  Last year the Food Bank distributed over 5.5-million pounds of food that was donated by area businesses, individuals, and food drives.
