Fire at a North Shreveport Paper Mill Forces Evacuation of Plant

No one is hurt in a fire at a North Shreveport paper mill plant fire.

All of the employees were evacuated from Pratt Industries shortly after 6:30 this morning when the fire started. Investigators believe it started when a belt on a paper machine caught fire inside the plant. Fire officials say the company's suppression system extinguished the fire, and firefighters stood by to make sure no extra help was needed.

Fire investigators say the fire is considered industrial. They added that the company has employees who work shifts around the clock.
