As the investigation continues into alleged criminal activity at Fire Station No. 8 on the State Fairgrounds, a fifth Shreveport firefighter has been arrested. 51-year-old Randy Chandler of Stonewall surrendered to authorities at Caddo Correctional Center.

Chandler was booked on a warrant charging him with one count of cruelty to the infirm. Shreveport police say the investigation is continuing and additional arrests may be forthcoming.

Earlier this week, 34-year-old Jason Vaughan of Plain Dealing became the fourth member of Fire Station No. 8 to be arrested. Vaughhan was booked on one court each of cruelty to the infirm and principal to prostitution.

The three other Fire Station No. 8 firefighters to be arrested are Clint Richardson, Derrick Harris and Billy Glass.

An anonymous source within the Shreveport Fire Department told KEEL News that department employees "paid prostitutes to have sex with a mentally challenged man who had been hanging around the fire station for 25 years."

In a press conference last week, Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover, flanked by Shreveport Fire Chief Craig Mulford, said he was "disturbed and concerned" by the allegations. Mulford reminded the press that the men are innocent until proven guilty.
