Are you hitting the roads for the long holiday weekend?  You won't be alone, but don't expect the roads to be as crowded in past years.  You might also run into lots of police.  Many towns have secured grants to police the roads over the July 4th holiday.

The American Automobile Association is predicting a slight decrease in the number of travelers for this Fourth of July compared to last year. Triple-A spokesperson Don Redman says overall they’re projecting 39 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this weekend. He says the dominant mode of transportation remains by automobile as 84% of holiday travlers plan to be on the road. However, Redman says the number of people flying this weekend is up from last year.
