Kendrick Brown, who was celebrating his 25th birthday, was shot down in the street during a family dispute in the Martin Luther King neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. His Aunt, Exie Dean, says that there has been tension for a long time between Brown and his step father Jerry Jackson.

Family members say Brown had some legal troubles and that is what led to the dispute. Brown's friend Michael Dillard was also shot during the encounter. He died early this morning for his injuries.

Jackson will likely face 2 cases of 2nd degree murder. This was the 24th and 25th homicides of year in Shreveport.
