An excessive heat warning is in effect through tomorrow evening for the entire four state region. The National Weather Service says temperatures today and tomorrow will range from 103 to 110 degrees. These very hot temperatures will combine with elevated humidity levels to produce heat index values between 110 and 118 degrees. The National Weather Service says you should watch for signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke...such as cramps, nausea, headache with profuse sweating...or worse...no sweating with a hot dry skin and dizziness or confusion. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency - call 9 1 1.
