facebook

After two standout years and a national championship at junior college powerhouse LSU Eunice, former Haughton High all stater Buddy McCoy continues to shine, making first team all conference in his first year at University of Texas – Tyler.

McCoy, who was the only UTT player named to the American Southwest Conference first team, led his squad in hits, doubles and total bases, while hittiing .358 and adding 24 RBI.

An all state catcher for the Buccaneers, McCoy was an irreplacable utility performer for the Patriot squad, spending time behind the plate, in the outfield and even in the infield, at both first and third.
