At the age of 11, she released her first album on an independent record label called Nor Va Jak. That same year, Bill Mack, a Dallas disc jockey and record promoter, met Rimes, and impressed by her talents, he took her under his wing and began cultivating a plan to break her into the mainstream. The cornerstone of Mack’s plan was a song called “Blue,” which he had written in the ’60s. Mack claimed that he had written the tune for Cline, but she had died before she was able to record the song.

Admission on this day is FREE to active duty and retired military personnel (with a valid military ID card).

This year’s exhibit will feature lots of new Shreveport memorabilia and an expanded event schedule beginning on June 16th. It will also include Bossier City and Barksdale Air Force Base memorabilia.

The exhibit will utilize new display options in the recently enclosed breezeways and space in the west wing gallery and rotunda.

The Friends of LSEM will be selling gift items, event posters, and donated merchandise to support the museum. You may donate items for us to sell by contacting The Friends by phone.

Intake days for loaning display items is 12 noon to 4 pm on June 2nd and continues 12 noon to 4 pm on June 4th through June 9th at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum located at 3015 Greenwood Road.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rhythm section (bass and drumsrespectively) from the legendary group Creedence Clearwater Revival launched the Creedence Clearwater Revisited project in 1995 to once again perform live Creedence Clearwater Revival hits – touchstones of a generation.

Though the pair initially only planned to play private parties, Creedence Clearwater Revisited now performs up to 100 shows a year and has released the album “Recollection.”
