Additional Information

The monthly Third Thursday Trolley event takes on a distinctly different look October 17 when the

becomes a haunt for the un-, nearly, mostly and recently dead. The Downtown Development Authority and Shreveport Regional Arts Council-sponsored Zombie Apocalypse: Downtown Stagger and Shamble will run from 5 pm until 8 pm. The event is open to all ages and levels of decomposition.

Admission is free, but the event is a food-raiser for the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank and each participant is asked to bring non-perishable food items to fill the food bank truck. The food bank requests no fresh brains, please.

There will be live music by the Moulin Dudes, beverages and zombie-themed cupcakes will be available for purchase at artspace, vendors will be selling books, tickets to the upcoming artscare and more. If you’re worried that not enough flesh has fallen off, facepainter Neecee Blackwell and stylists at Joseph Guin Salon will be available to professionally zombify you for a fee, but you must promise not to bite them.

During the course of the evening, the audience will be asked to vote for the Best Brain Eater and celebrity funeral home director Andy Shehee will be judging several costume categories as well as scoping out the crowd for future business.

Do Zombies Ride the Trolley (Or Do They Just try to Eat People On it)?
We’ll find out Thursday night if Zombies still have enough body parts to stagger onto a trolley, which will take them to Municipal Auditorium for a “Zombie and Elvis” photo op. From there, the trolley will travel to Sevendipity Café, 420 Marshall Street, for zombie specials and contests. Wherever people are gathered downtown on Thursday night, they risk a visit from the Zombie Nation.

Post Apocalypse Party
After the event ends at artspace, zombies aged 21 and above are invited to Mojo’s, 203 Texas Street, for a post-Apocalypse party with Zombie-inspired drinks, music and fun. You are politely requested not to bite anyone, to use a napkin while eating brains and to retrieve all spare body parts before you leave for the evening. Let’s play nice, zombies!
