ESPN, the worldwide leader in both sports coverage and political correctness, has suspended former big leaguer and current analyst Curt Schilling, after the ex-pitcher sent a controversial tweet.

On his Twitter page, Schilling re-posted a Facebook meme:

"It's said only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How'd that go?"

The text was superimposed of a red-tinted photo of Adolf Hitler.

Then, Schilling added, "The math is staggering when you get to true #'s."

Following an ESPN statement with the obligatory "does not reflect the values of the network", Schilling issued an apology and another tweet:

"I understand and accept my suspension. 100% my fault. Bad choices have bad consequences and this was a bad decision in every way on my part."
