The list of applicants for the soon-to-be-vacant Bossier Schools Superintendent position is reduced by two.

One candidate withdrew his application and another was disqualified, leaving eight possible choices for the Superintendent Search Committee.

At last evening's Bossier Parish School Board meeting, the committee set its schedule for interviewing the applicants. Interviews will be done Monday and Tuesday, April 25 and 26.

The community is invited to submit questions for the candidates. Those will be accepted until 8 a.m. Monday at the following link:

After the Tuesday interviews, the committee will narrow its list to three candidates and schedule second interviews. Those will be held in executive session Thursday, April 28. Then the committee will vote on a new superintendent at a special board meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 3.

Current Superintendent D.C. Machen is expected to retire from the position in June, after helping with the transition Bossier Parish's new public schools leader.

2 p.m. - Leland Hand, Cross Roads (TX) ISD Superintendent
3 p.m. - Jason Rowland, Airline High School Principal
4 p.m. - Scott Smith, Assistant Bossier Parish Schools Superintendent
5 p.m. - Dr. Nichole Bourgeois, Parkway High School Principal

April 26

2 p.m. - Dr. Lonnie Luce, St. James Parish Schools Superintendent
3 p.m. - Sherri Pool, Bossier Parish Schools Supervisor of Programs of Professional Evaluation and District Personnel Evaluation
4 p.m. - David Thrash, Bossier High School Principal
5 p.m. - Gisele Proby-Bryant - Director of Special Education/Interim Director of Federal Programs
