Narcotics agents with the Combined Bossier Narcotics Task Force arrested eight persons for possession of various drugs and weapons charges during a narcotics investigation at two Bossier City hotels this week.
During an investigation Wednesday at one hotel room occupied by four persons, agents found a spoon with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine, Xanax and a scale commonly used for weighing narcotics. Arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of Xanax and possession of drug paraphernalia were:

  • John D. Stewart, 18, of Shreveport
  • Leigh A. Colvin, 29, of Shreveport
  • Daniel R. Holland, 30, of Shreveport
  • Larry E. Anderson, 36, of Shreveport

Anderson was also arrested on an active Bossier Sheriff’s Office warrant for felony theft.

During an investigation at another Bossier City hotel Wednesday, agents found marijuana in a hotel room occupied by two adults and two children. The two adults in the room initially attempted to hide the marijuana from agents by kicking it under the bed, but eventually admitted to the offense. Arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor were:

  • Anthony L. Cotton, 39, of Bossier City
  • Mary M. Thomas, 36, of Ruston

At that same hotel earlier this week, agents arrested two persons for knowingly possessing a handgun with the serial numbers scratched off. One of the suspects also gave a false name at the time of questioning. Arrested Monday and charged with possessing a firearm with obliterated numbers were:

  • Chase D. Anderson, 21, of Bossier City
  • Kayla R. Wilson, 19, of Bossier City

Anderson was also charged with resisting arrest and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Agents also found a large amount of synthetic marijuana in the room with Anderson and Wilson, and additional charges are pending.

All eight arrestees were transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility for booking.
The Bossier Combined Narcotics Task Force comprises agents from the Bossier Sheriff’s Office and the Bossier City Police Department. The team was established in October last year by Sheriff Julian Whittington and Police Chief Shane McWilliams as a combined effort to combat illegal drug activity and associated crimes all throughout Bossier Parish.
