For the first time ever, the Shreveport/Bossier Metropolitan Statistical Area -- Caddo, Bossier, and Desoto parishes -- has broken into the top ten of "Site Selection" magazine's economic rankings. North Louisiana Economic Partnership Treasurer Roy Prestwood says the Shreveport/Bossier MSA now ranks fourth in the nation among markets with a population between 200-thousand and one-million. Baton Rouge tops that category -- followed by Dayton, Ohio, and Spartanburg, South Carolina. Prestwood says this area's growth is a direct result of the cooperative partnership that exists among business, government, and economic development leaders in our three parishes. The State of Louisiana ranks third in the nation in "Site Selection's" Governor's Cup and ten of the state's Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas, including Shreveport/Bossier, rank among the top ten in their respective size categories.
