Economic Development Changes in Shreveport

The way economic development efforts are handled in Shreveport is about to change. Mayor Cedric Glover is working with the city council and parish officials to create a joint Shreveport-Caddo Office of Economic Development. It incorporates suggestions from community leaders and recommendations included in the Shreveport-Caddo Master Plan. Professional economic developers David Dodd and Ronnie Bryant will study the viability and potential outline of such an organization. The mayor also says Economic Development Coordinator Matt Bailey has resigned, effective today. He's been part of the mayor's staff since August 2009.
