Mandina's Grill, a popular Italian eatery in Downtown Shreveport was damaged by fire early Monday morning.

According to a press release from the Shreveport Fire Department:

The Shreveport Fire Department was called to Mandina’s Grill in the 800 Blk. of Fannin at 6:01 a.m. for smoke coming from the building. Firefighters from Central Fire Station arrived on scene at 6:07 a.m. Engine 1 was first to arrive on scene and reported fire visible from the roof of the restaurant.

Firefighters quickly gained access to the building through the front door and found the fire in a storage area off the kitchen. It took [twenty five firefighters from ten fire units only sixteen minutes] to bring the fire under control. The fire was contained to the kitchen area with the rest of the building sustaining smoke and heat damage. There were no injuries reported and the fire remains under investigation at this time.
