Drowning death in Harleton

On May 6, 2012, Harrison County 911 dispatchers received a telephone call from an address on Private Road 4137, near Harleton, at approximately 4:30 PM, regarding a possible drowning. Champion EMS crews were dispatched at arrived to find 2 year old, Lacy Besecke, being given CPR inside of the residence. According to the child’s grandmother, who lives at the residence, she was watching the children play in the pool from the back porch of the residence. She stated the child was wearing a swim ring and had apparently taken the swim ring off and was found on the bottom of the pool by the other children. It is not known how long the child had been under the water.

The victim was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview where she was pronounced deceased by the emergency room physician.
