Drew Brees' status as an elite quarterback was cemented Monday night in New Orleans. Brees passed Peyton Manning as the NFL's all time passing leader. And, he did it in spectacular fashion. Because its Drew Brees and that's what he does.

Brees broke Peyton Manning's record of 71,940 career passing yards with a 62-yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Tre'Quan Smith in the second quarter. And not only did he just set a NFL record but he also had one of his best games in recent years, throwing for 363 yards and three touchdowns.

Earlier this year, Brees set the record for pass completions in the NFL. Oh, and did I mention that Brees is 39 years old? And he's probably not done breaking records. Brees currently has thrown for 499 career touchdown passes and is on pace to break Manning's Touchdown Pass record of 539. However, he will have some competition being number 1 in that category...as Tom Brady already has thrown for 500 and insists he's going to play another 3 or 4 years.
