A lot of folks are breathing easier today. The decision has been made to lift the volunteer evacuation order for the area surrounding Camp Minden at noon tomorrow (Friday). Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton says, at that time, the barricades will be taken down and Highways 164 and 163 will be re-opened. However, he says Gate 3 into Camp Minden will remain closed. There will be no school again tomorrow in Doyline and the tournament scheduled for the weekend will be played at Sibley and Lakeside High Schools instead. The polling place change to Westlake Baptist Church announced earlier in the week will remain in effect for Saturday's election.

Even though the evacuation order is being lifted, Sheriff Sexton says the work at Camp Minden is far from over.  He says it could easily last another couple of weeks.  But he says explosives technicians think they've been able move enough of the improperly-stored propellant to underground storage bunkers, and segregate what they haven't been able to move yet, to lift the order.
