On July 5th, Shreveport patrol officers were called out to a reported burglary at a home in the 900 block of Francis Street in the Mooretown neighborhood. The victim, who had just arrived at the residence after being out of town, told them an unknown person or people had apparently entered through the back window and stole several items before taking off. Patrolmen were able to recover blood evidence from the crime scene, which was analyzed at the North Louisiana Crime Lab. The DNA was matched to 18-year-old Charles Young, who investigators have located and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of simple burglary.
