Mississippi State’s center Dillon Day received a personal foul call near the end of the third quarter for stomping on an LSU defender well after the whistle.

As the Bulldogs figuratively stepped all over the Tigers in Baton Rouge Saturday night, Day was busy doing it literally. TV cameras caught him stomping Davon Godchaux’s stomach, then jamming his right foot into Rashard Robinson’s groin.

On the Godchaux play, Day appears to leap over quarterback Dak Prescott and LSU safety Jalen Mills, then forcefully plow his left cleat into the defensive tackle’s belly.

Later, when Day probably could’ve avoided Robinson, he hammers his foot into the cornerback’s groin, causing himself to lose his balance and Robinson to leave the game.

Considering Day, a 6-foot-4, 299-pound long-haired senior, was suspended last year for a similar play, it’s hard to believe it was accidental.

SEC officials will review the plays this week, with a suspension of Day certainly a possibility.
