DHH Confirms Two West Nile Virus Deaths

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals is reporting 21 new West Nile cases in the past week.  13 of those were the most serious neuroinvasive disease.  There were also three cases of West Nile Fever and three asymptomatic cases -- one of those in Lincoln Parish.  So far this year, two people of died from West Nile -- the first deaths in our state from the disease since 2008.  There were no new cases reported this week in Caddo or Bossier Parishes.
