Desoto Parish now has it's very own Mardi Gras krewe based out of Mansfield, LA. The Krewe of Demeter was originally formed in March 2015. and paraded for the first time January 23, 2016.

Other than being the crazy horse lady on the radio, I'm also pretty much ate up with Mardi Gras and I can't believe I'm just know hearing about Demeter, especially since my hubby is the self proclaimed 'Domino King of Mansfield!'

The krewe is currently recruiting new members to join their ranks and are accepting folks from all around the Desoto Parish area and beyond. Looking at the pictures, they're already heavily involved with charity and philanthropic projects in Desoto. IMHO, I think it's fantastic the Mardi Gras is growing in Northwest Louisiana. Let the good times roll my friends!

If you want to find out more about joining the Krewe of Demeter, you can email kreweinfo@att.net or call (318) 344-3335.

FYI, Demeter is holding their coronation Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Desoto High School Alumni Association. Tickets are available for $45 and the theme is 'Under the Big Top!'
