DeSoto sheriff's deputies believe they've wrapped up several vehicle burglary cases with the arrests of two men.

Detectives, in conjunction with Stonewall police, were able to identify 24-year-old Nicholas Callens of Bossier City and 19-year-old Kaleb Janeczko of Waldo, Arkansas, as suspects in recent car burglaries in the North DeSoto Estates and Cathey Acres areas of Stonewall.

Janeczko was already incarcerated in Bossier Parish on unrelated charges. He'll be transported to the DeSoto Parish Detention Center and booked on an arrest warrant. Callens turned himself in to detectives. He was booked on his arrest warrant following an interview.

Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle reminds residents to be diligent about locking their vehicles. Locking the doors is an easy way to prevent opportunist criminals like Janeczko and Callens from taking your belongings.

Arbuckle says the majority of car burglary cases his office works involve unlocked vehicles. Many of these burglars do not want to force entry and normally leave locked vehicles alone.
