Dawkins Contract Up For Renewal

Superintendant's contract up for renewal.

Dr. Gerald Dawkins has been running Caddo Parish Schools for 3 years.  His contract expires in August.  Board members are meeting this week to talk about extending that contract for another three years. Dawkins initial salary in 2008 was 197,000, but he got a pay increase in 2009 bringing his salary to 202,000.  Dawkins is optimistic about the future of Caddo Schools.  He recently won board approval for the Vision 2020 plan which will overhaul the school system. But says there is still much to be done to make sure that plan is fully implimented.
