Bossier District Attorney’s Secretary Lands Giant Alligator

When a lot of people think about alligator hunting in Louisiana, they immediately think of the Swamp People — the Landry family in south Louisiana — who have become such a hit on TV.
But alligator hunting takes place here in northwest Louisiana, too, and Bossier/Webster District Attorney Schuyler Marvin’s secretary recently proved that we’ve got big ‘gators up here just like they do in south Louisiana.
Kami Lunsford landed a 9-foot, 6-inch, 400 pound ‘gator with a single, well-placed shot to the head. Mrs. Lunsford captured, killed and tagged the trophy-sized reptile on Cypress/Black Bayou.
The long-time hunter says alligators are one of the most exciting animals to hunt in northwest Louisiana.
