Dallas Cowboys practice-squad linebacker Jerry Brown (pictured left) was killed in a one-car accident Saturday morning. Police have charged Josh Brent, a teammate, with intoxication manslaughter.

Saturday morning around 2:20 a.m. Josh Brent was driving over the speed limit and hit a curb flipping over at least once.

According to Police spokesman John Argumaniz, Jerry Brown was pronounced dead at a hospital. Brent was arrested after Officers conducted a field sobriety test.

"We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement. "At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry's family and all of those who knew him and loved him."

While Brent played football at the University of Illinois back in 2009, he was arrested for driving under the influence, suspended license and speeding. He was fined $2,000 ad served sixty days in jail plus two years probation.

The Dallas Cowboys had just signed Jerry Brown to their practice squad on Oct. 24, 2012.

Brown's death was the second tragedy to hit the NFL. Last Saturday, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher fatally shot his girlfriend before killing himself in front of his coach and general manager.
