A Shreveport man is behind bars -- accused of stealing $72-thousand worth of merchandise from a local tire store.

Caddo sheriff's detectives say 22-year-old LaDarrius Taylor purchased tires from Moore's Goodyear 18 times over a recent two-week period.  Each time he did, his credit card was declined by the store's machine.  But detectives say, each time, he faked telephone conversations with the credit card company and convinced the sales associate to manually override the sales transactions and enter a phony authorization number.  When he called the store this week to place another $6500 tire order, detectives were waiting and arrested him when he attempted to pick up the merchandise.  Taylor was booked into Caddo Correctional Center on two counts of felony theft.
