Bossier City police are investigating a two vehicle rollover crash on the ART Parkway that injured two people early this morning and caused police to shut down a portion of the parkway.

The crash happened at about 2:30 am at the intersection of the Shreveport-Barksdale bridge when a Ford Expedition traveling southbound on the parkway rear-ended a Nissan Pathfinder that was also heading southbound in the outside lane of traffic. The impact caused the Pathfinder to veer off the road and roll over onto its side before coming to rest up right while Expedition rolled over multiple times on the roadway for approximately 500 feet.

The man driving the Expedition was taken to University Health in Shreveport by Bossier City Fire Department personnel. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The woman who was driving the Pathfinder was transported to Willis-Knighton Pierremont with non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other occupants.

Police have closed the southbound lanes of the parkway from McDade Street to the Shreveport-Barksdale bridge while they investigate the crash.

Investigators say alcohol and excessive speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
The name of the driver of the Expedition is 22 year old Luis Angel Reyes Correa. The driver of the Pathfinder is 43 year old Corazon Gassiott. Both reside in Bossier City.

Correa was been charged with careless operation, no driver's license and open container. A DWI charge is also pending the results from a toxicology test.
