Right now many things are still not certain but the Shreveport Bossier City area could possibly see the new I-69 passing through our area. The proposed interstate would run from the Great Lakes to the Texas/Mexico border. Right now it looks like we're waiting for Texas to conduct environmental studies before anything more can be decided on.

KTBS reports that the project as a whole would cost around $30 Billion! Louisiana could make steps towards making the interstate a reality by starting the project in our state but money is proving to be the real issue. Between low funds and political pressure to fix the already existing roads local leaders will need to decide what they feel is the best next step. Now this wouldn't be all on local taxpayers as the vast majority will come from federal funding however it'll still take a big local check to make this all happen.

Do you think it'd be worth it to make sure I-69 runs through our area? If not plans look to run it through Texarkana and down into East Texas.
