In Caddo District Court, Judge Mike Pitman has "reluctantly" granted a defense motion to continue the first-degree murder trial of Christopher Cope. He's the man charged with the October 2010 shooting death of Shreveport Police Sergeant Tim Prunty. Cope's trial date will now be October 8th instead of July 23rd. His attorney says he plans to appeal to the Second Circuit Court of Appeal for an even longer delay. In the meantime, Samuel Lee Jordon is still set for trial on July 23rd. Judge Pitman has denied his attorney's defense moton for a continuance. Jordan is chaged with first-degree murder for the December 2008 death of eight-week-old Lyrica Kennedy.
