A Michigan man convicted in January of molesting the two daughters of a family friend now knows his fate.

According to the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office, 43-year-old Roy Arlen Vannortrick will serve two consecutive 45-year prison terms. He was sentenced by District Judge Brady O'Callaghan, the same judge who presided over his trial five months ago.

The DA's Office says Vannortrick will be credited for the time he's spent behind bars, but has to serve the first 25 years of each sentence without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension. That leaves him in prison for at least 50 years.

Vannortrick was originally charged with two counts of aggravated rape for repeatedly sexually abusing the girls, who were both under age 13, in 2009 and 2010 when he lived in Caddo Parish. He was captured by the U.S. Marshals Task Force in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, in October 2013 and extradited to Caddo the following month.
