Darren Aronofsky's cinemtic rendition of the Biblical flood, 'Noah', played to big crowds, grossing over $44 million in its' opening weekend at theaters across the USA.

The film, starring Russell Crowe in the title role, has been criticized by numerous Christian groups for it's less than literal interpretation of the Biblical tale. But the condemnation by various church leaders didn't keep the audiences away, as 'Noah' was #1 in tickets sales across America and did just as well overseas, grossing more than $75 million in foreign markets.
