College Costs Continue to Go Up

The cost of higher education continues to go up.

A new report says the price of in-state tuition at four-year public universities has climbed about $400 this fall. That's an increase of nearly 5 percent. The average cost is now about $8,600.

Room-and-board charges grew by a comparable amount, raising the full cost for students living on campus to $17,860. College prices are expected to continue to go up in Louisiana as our state works to trim spending on higher ed.
