Bossier City police hope to have a suspect in a 15-year-old "cold case" in their custody before the week is out. 36-year-old Haywood Bolton was arrested Friday in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on a first-degree murder warrant and is now awaiting extradition. He's accused of fatally shooting U-S Marshal's Service employee Hiram Morrical in October of 1996 -- in the parking lot of a Bossier City hotel. Bossier Police Chief Shane McWilliams says detectives were able to develop Bolton as a possible suspect early-on in their investigation. But it was only recently that they were able to pin down enough evidence to solidify their case. U-S Marshal Henry Whitehorn says it's taken a lot of hard work by a lot of law enforcement agencies over the past fifteen years to make the case against Bolton.
