Due to starting quarterback Zach Mettenberger's past two appearances on the road, which resulted in a nailbiting 12-10 win over Auburn and a loss to rival Florida, not many favored the LSU Tigers in this contest.

LSU tells critics to quiet down with their close 24-19 win over the newest members of the SEC, the Texas A&M Aggies.

Fans, players and coaches could not stress enough how much LSU needed to win this game. It's important for LSU as they have next week off, and then face their biggest test of the season against the Alabama Crimson Tide in two weeks.
