Imagine having a health system at school that can operate like a hospital.

A school-based health system that operates like a hospital? Almost seems too good to be true... Almost. Thanks to Children's Miracle Network (CMN), Atkins Technology Elementary, Linwood Public Charter School and Woodlawn Leadership Academy have this available on their campuses. Each center offers preventative health and primary care for students who might not have access to these types of services otherwise.

Bobby Cox is the CMN Program Director at Christus Health Shreveport-Bossier. Here's what he has to say about the School-Based Health Centers:

Students spend a significant portion of their day on school grounds. SBHCs are accessible, convenient, encourage family and community involvement, reduce student absenteeism, reduce parental leave from work for doctor visits, and work with school personnel to meet the needs of the students and their families."

Next week, on March 26 and 27 we’re going to ask you to open your heart and your wallet for CMN.

We’ve teamed up with Children’s Miracle Network and Christus Health Shreveport-Bossier for The Miracle Makers Radiothon and it is solely For the Kids (#FTK). As a Miracle Maker, your $12 a month will go to the incredible programs funded by CMN like the School-Based Health Centers. That’s the beauty of CMN. Every dollar raised will stay right here to help those around us.
