Child Hit By Dump Truck Dies

A 2-year-old boy was hit by a dump truck at a south Caddo Parish truck stop this morning, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

The accident occurred at the S&A Truck Stop located at 12300 Mansfield Road just after 11 a.m. Friday morning.   According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office the boy, Tanner Tobin, was with his mother and grandmother, who had parked their in a space at the truck stop. The mother was holding Tanner's hand when he broke free, ran behind their pickup and into the path of an oncoming dump truck.  The toddler was rushed to the LSU Health Sciences Center, where he later died.
